Tim McDonald is the eighth President of Lanier Technical College. In his 41st year at Lanier Technical College, McDonald provides leadership and vision for all College operations. McDonald previously served as the College’s Executive Vice President, providing leadership for the Economic Development and Adult Education Divisions of the College. Prior to the EVP position, McDonald served as Vice President for Economic Development and as the Dean of the College’s Dawson Campus. McDonald’s first 25 years at the College were spent as an instructor in the Machine Tool Technology program.
A native of Hall County, Georgia, McDonald earned an Advanced General Machinist Diploma from Lanier Technical College; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology-Southern Polytechnic State University; and a Master of Business Administration – Brenau University.
Tim and his wife Kim have two grown daughters and four joyous grandchildren.
