Commissioner Todd Levent was elected in 2010 to serve as the District 3 commissioner for the 2011-2014 term. He was re-elected in 2014 for the 2015-2018 term, in 2018 for the 2019-2022 term, and in 2022 for the 2023-2026 term. He was voted by the other commissioners to serve as chairman of the board in 2017 and 2018. With the blessing of his family and the support of his friends, Commissioner Levent chose to run for county commissioner to do his part to help make Forsyth County the best place in Georgia to raise a family.
Commissioner Levent says his family instilled in him a "family and community first" value from a very young age. As a young man, he joined the Fulton County Sheriff's Reserve Unit as a lieutenant and performed various charitable work in support of those less fortunate than himself. From 1989 to 1994, he served as a deputy marshal in Fulton County and was also a member of the S.W.A.T. team and firearm instructor before starting his own business. While serving as a law enforcement officer Levent also owned an executive body guard service and transportation company serving many embassies in the Atlanta area until 1998. In 1994, Levent also started his own construction company which was in operation until 2010.
Commissioner Levent also serves on the Forsyth County Water & Sewerage Authority. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, the Forsyth County Board of Health, the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Transportation and Air Quality Committee and served as a District 1 and District 2 elector on the Atlanta Region Transit Link (ATL) Authority. He is a former member of the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Council, the Forsyth County Mental Health - Criminal Justice Task Force, the state-formed Avita Community Partners Board of Directors and served as the commission representative on the Forsyth County Animal Control and Shelter Advisory Committee. Levent was voted by the commission to serve on the SPLOST VII Jail/Courthouse Project Team. He has completed the Commissioners Training Program and the Certified Commissioners Advanced Program (CCAP) through the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG).
Todd and his wife Dana are the parents of Jared and Alexandria.
