Tim Dunn served as a City Council member from 2007 to 2020, and as Mayor since March 2020. He and wife Sheila have lived in Lilburn since 1981 and have two children, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Mayor Dunn earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Memphis State University. He was with Delta Air Lines for more than 30 years, retiring from Information Technologies in 1994. He then was the Administrator at Campus Church of Christ for 15 years.
He served eight years in Gwinnett Senior Leadership, two years on the Lilburn Planning Commission, and is serving as a board member of an inner-city non-profit.

Bill is a native of Georgia, born in Atlanta. Bill spent his youth in Suwanee, GA and attended Suwanee Elementary, Lanier Middle School and graduated from North Gwinnett High School.
Bill is a graduate of Oxford College of Emory University (A.A) and received his B.A. from Mercer University. In addition, Bill is a Fellow with publication, and graduate of the National Center for State Courts, Institute for Court Management.
Work career spans 35 plus years, including 10 years as a Gwinnett County Juvenile probation officer, the first Trial Court Administrator for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, County Manager for Dawson County, GA and City Manager for the City of Lilburn (13 years).
Bill has been married 35 years to Lisa Johnsa and has two sons, Mitch (28) and Patrick (20).
Jenny Simpkins

Jenny Simpkins joined the City of Lilburn is December 2019 as its assistant city manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, North Carolina.
She has worked in public service for over 12 years. Prior to joining the City of Lilburn, Ms. Simpkins served as City of Fort Oglethorpe City Manager. She also previously worked for Gwinnett County Government and the City of Savannah in varying roles.
Ms. Simpkins resides in the Lilburn area with her husband, Scott.
