Matthew Holtkamp was elected to the District 4 seat of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in 2022. District 4 includes the cities of Buford, Sugar Hill, Braselton, Rest Haven, Auburn, and parts of Dacula, Suwanee, and Lawrenceville.
Matthew moved to Gwinnett from a small farm in Iowa in 1985. Holtkamp is the founder and president of the Gwinnett-based business, Holtkamp Heating & Air Conditioning, which has received both local and national recognition. Holtkamp HVAC won the 2018 Overall IMPACT Regional Business Award from the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and in 2020 was awarded American Standard’s top national award.
In 2021, Matthew was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to serve on the Conditioned Air Licensing Board. He also serves as immediate Past President of the Board of Directors for the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia. Other recent leadership positions include the Executive Board of the Gwinnett Republican Party and Chairman of the Gwinnett Technical College Foundation Board. Matthew is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett.
During their 40 years in Gwinnett, Matthew and his wife Suzanne have raised two beautiful daughters and continue to be deeply involved in local business, nonprofit, and church communities.
