Prior to being elected, unopposed, Mayor of Lawrenceville in 2023, 2019 and to the City Council of Lawrenceville in 2015, David was appointed to the Lawrenceville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in January 2012 and elected by his peers as Chair of the DDA in 2015, where he served for four years. David became the first Council Member to sit on both the Council and DDA. David served on the DDA from 2012 through 2019. David also served on the former Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association (LTTA) in various positions from 2006 to 2010. He is a current member of the Gwinnett Chamber, Board Member of the Northside Hospital’s Gwinnett Foundation, the Northeast Georgia Community Foundation, as well as past board member of Impact46, a local non-profit geared toward community improvement efforts in Lawrenceville.
David is the founder, designated M&A Advisor, and lead Business Appraiser of Capital Endeavors, LLC. located in Lawrenceville Georgia in the “Old – Old” City Hall of Lawrenceville. David graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration. As a Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary (M&AMI) and Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), David achieved the highest level of recognition possible from the International Business Brokers Association and the M&A Source, while working in the M&A Industry.
David was born and raised in Lawrenceville and has maintained a Lawrenceville address his entire life. He was the co-owner and publisher of the Gwinnett Post-Tribune prior to establishing his Lawrenceville based company, Capital Endeavors, Inc., in 1995 which focused on the merger and acquisition, advisor and business appraisal industry sector.
David and his wife, Vicki, a GCPS speech/language pathologist, have been married 41 years and have been members of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville for as many years. Their son, Carter, and his wife, Chrissy, live in unincorporated Lilburn, with their two children, ages 13 and 11. David and Vicki's daughter, Courtney, and son-in-law, Brad, live in Athens, Georgia, with their children, ages 2.5 and 7 months old.
