Joseph Henning, IOM, CAE, serves as president and chief executive officer of the Henry County (GA) Chamber of Commerce. Prior, he served 14 years as president and CEO of the Aurora Regional (IL) Chamber.
With a focus on the Chamber’s mission and business needs, Henning has served as an advocate for employer interests while implementing new partnerships that support business development. His communications background has helped the Chamber move into podcasts, webinars, and other technology-based platforms.
He holds a bachelor’s in public relations and a master’s focusing on organizational development from Northern Illinois University as well as a certificate in not-for-profit management from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Henning is a 2009 graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Institute for Organization Management. He has served as chair of the Midwest Board and the national Board of Trustees for the program and continues to serve as a faculty member. Henning completed the Basic Economic Development Course through Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2008. In 2013, he completed the Economic Development Essentials course through University of Oklahoma.
