McDonough resident Kevin J. Lewis was elected to serve on the Henry County Board of Commissioners representing District 5 for a four-year term beginning on January 1, 2023.
Lewis is a licensed realtor and owns and operates a development firm that specializes in real estate development, investments and sales. With more than two decades of professional experience serving in management and executive positions in both the airline and transportation industries, Lewis is a recent retiree, now operating his own business.
No stranger to public service, Lewis has been engaged in public and community service for several years and volunteers with numerous organizations including several local food banks and mentoring programs. He has served as Vice President on the Southern Region School Parent Council and has served on the Southern Region Advisory Board of Wings Financial Credit Union for the past 12 years. He is a member of the J.E. Acey Masonic Lodge, PHA, located in Henry County, Gate City Chapter #9, HRAM and Roderick D. Brown Council #1, RSM.
Born in Durham, North Carolina to Elvis Lewis Jr. and Claudine Daye Lewis, he has one older brother, Elvis Lewis III. He is a graduate of Morehouse College and has been married to his wife Chaundra for the past 23 years and together they are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters.
