The following year, the County created the Development Plan Review department to handle the heavy influx of new development requests, Michael was selected to serve as the Director of this newly created department.
Michael later went on to become the Public Works Director, overseeing the counties transportation department and SPLOST program. As the County continued to grow and leadership sought to restructure organizational operations, Michael was promoted to the role of Division Director, overseeing numerous departments including Planning and Zoning, Building, GIS, Transit, Senior Services and Parks and Recreation. In 2017, Michael left the City of Stockbridge to return to the private sector working for Jacobs Engineering.
