Dana Barrett serves as the Fulton County Commissioner for District 3, which includes Buckhead and parts of Midtown and Sandy Springs. Elected in 2022, she brings decades of experience in the technology, media, and business sectors to her public service work.
As a Commissioner, she focuses on protecting election integrity, expanding access to healthcare, and promoting economic mobility—all while working to make county government more transparent, ethical, and effective.
Commissioner Barrett currently sits on the boards of Invest Atlanta, the Fulton County Employees’ Retirement System, TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, and Think Big for Kids Atlanta. She also serves on the Technology Policy Committee of the National Association of Counties (NACo) and is a member of the NewDEAL Leaders organization.
Before entering public office, Commissioner Barrett hosted an award-winning business and technology radio show, anchored 11Alive’s Atlanta Tech Edge, and contributed to HLN, Forbes, and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. She has been a longtime advocate for women and underserved communities, earning recognition from the SBA, Georgia Tech, and the Atlanta Dream.
A graduate of Cornell University, Commissioner Barrett is originally from Philadelphia and is a proud single mom and breast cancer survivor.
