Gwinnett Technical College
Dr. Glen Cannon is the third president in the 42-year history of Gwinnett Technical College. Dr. Cannon has an almost 40-year career working with higher ed institutions. Including five in Georgia, and was also president of Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama. In addition to his academic degrees, including a doctorate in occupational studies from the University of Georgia, he is also a licensed CPA. He has been president at GTC since 2014, and under his leadership, the college has grown from an enrollment of around 6,000 students to almost 13,000 this spring semester. Making GTC the largest technical College in Georgia.
Dr. Cannon serves on numerous non-profit and civic groups in both North Fulton and Gwinnett counties. Dr. Cannon believes the best thing you can do for someone is give them the ability to do for themselves, and GTC’s High School Equivalency Programs are among the most important tools Gwinnett Tech and the State of Georgia have to support individual citizens’ life goals and begin to create generational positive socio-economic change.
