For more than 20 years, Norelie Garcia has been at the forefront of private and public alliances, business management and large-scale domestic and global initiatives - an experienced, award-winning and esteemed executive leader in the communications, media and technology sectors.
Garcia joined AT&T in 2011, as Associate Vice President of Federal Public Affairs, where she managed the company's relationships with national consumer advocacy non-governmental organizations, think tanks and policy groups, with a special focus on civil rights organizations. She chaired AT&T's National Consumer Advisory Panel and delivered key support for legislative and regulatory priorities from diverse voices championing access, equity and advancement for communities across the globe through tech policy - wireless, broadband, fiber and media.
As a talented people, operations, and innovative leader, she was appointed to the company's Emerging Enterprises division to lead the brand's prepaid marketing, responsible for over $50 million of capital - brand, partnerships & sponsorships, community engagement initiatives and public relations - delivering a 40% year-over-year return on investment and millions in earned media value.
Garcia was assigned to lead Corporate Communications for AT&T Latin America, DIRECTV, and SKY Brasil, where she was instrumental in managing complex, multi-country, multi-language and multi-product teams, stakeholder relationships and strategies ranging from external regulatory matters and consumer news to the Pay-TV and digital entertainment ecosystem trends. She led the communications and marketing for the launch of DIRECTVGo streaming app internationally.
Norelie later joined the HBO/Warner Bros. Discovery Direct-to-Consumer Technology, Engineering & Global Program Management as Director of Program Management & Communications and most recently, she served as Assistant Vice President AT&T - Marketing & Growth Engagement base in Dallas, TX.
A Communication Arts & Sciences graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Garcia developed national communications and strategic alliances in Washington, DC as Managing Director of Strategic Alliances and the DCI Group, Senior Associate at the Ibarra Strategy Group and Senior Public Policy Fellow at Amplify Public Affairs.
Norelie has been awarded the Rising Star Award by Women of Color in Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Math, Hispanic Corporate Acheivement Award by La Amistad, and named a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal.
She prides herself on giving back to the community through volunteerism, mentorship and corporate partnerships. Garcia is the chair of the Georgia Latino Film Festival, serves on the corporate advisory board for Grupo 21, an official partner of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and on the board of directors of the Georgia Budget & Policy Institute.
Norelie resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and two kids.
