A proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Jayden earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, where he distinguished himself as a campus leader and advocate. During his time at CAU, he served as Freshman Class President, 34th Student Government Association Treasurer, and was appointed twice as a White House Scholar, reflecting his early commitment to leadership, policy, and public service. His academic and civic experiences shaped his understanding of governance, equity, and the importance of inclusive decision-making.
Jayden’s commitment to community leadership extends beyond academia. He is the founder and CEO of The Original Royals LLC and Royals Clothing Inc., organizations rooted in entrepreneurship, identity, and empowerment. His public service includes serving as former State Conference President of the Georgia NAACP Youth & College Division, becoming the youngest Planning Commissioner in the State of Georgia, and later serving as Chairman of the Stockbridge Planning Commission. He has also served as Youth Mayor Emeritus for the City of Stockbridge Youth Council and Chairman Emeritus of Youth Leaders of Henry, consistently advocating for youth voices in government and civic life.
In 2025, Jayden announced his candidacy for Mayor of Stockbridge, Georgia, running on a vision centered on unity, accountability, and community-driven progress. He was elected as the 23rd Mayor of Stockbridge, Georgia, making history as the youngest African American mayor in the State of Georgia. His election marked a pivotal moment for the city ushering in a new era of leadership focused on collaboration, transparency, and inclusive growth.
As Mayor, Jayden leads with a bold and forward-thinking agenda guided by the belief that meaningful progress happens when communities move forward together. His leadership philosophy emphasizes good governance, civic engagement, youth development, and economic opportunity, all anchored in his commitment to putting people first. Shawn Edmondson

Shawn Edmondson is a distinguished public sector executive, operations strategist, and United States military veteran whose career spans more than 28 years of exemplary service across federal, state, and local government. A proven leader in municipal administration, organizational transformation, and public stewardship, he brings to his role as City Manager a depth of experience defined by strategic vision, operational discipline, and an unwavering commitment to community advancement.
Before his appointment in Stockbridge, Mr. Edmondson served as City Manager for the City of Stone Mountain, where he also held several titles to include City Clerk, Elections Superintendent, Pension Secretary, HR/Risk Manager and several more. In those roles, he led a broad range of operational and administrative initiatives, including government modernization, election administration, records management improvements, economic development support, and the implementation of forward-looking programs designed to enhance transparency, public confidence, and organizational effectiveness. His leadership portfolio also includes senior positions such as Assistant City Manager, Program Administration Manager, and Senior Director of Personnel, reflecting a career built on progressively greater responsibility and impact.
Mr. Edmondson holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University and a Bachelor of Arts in Management from American Military University. He is a Certified Public Manager through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government and is currently a doctoral candidate pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration at Walden University. His academic and professional foundation is grounded in transformational leadership, executive management, and service-centered governance.
