Dr. Donya L. Sartor is a Georgia native that has lived in the City of Jonesboro for over 15 years. Dr. Sartor is currently serving her first term on the council. She has worked in the field of education for over 25 years and currently works as a Sales Consultant with a Learning Science company.
Councilwoman Sartor is very passionate about serving her community and has started several initiatives to serve her constituents. Some of her initiatives include an annual school supply giveaway, the Adopt-A- Senior Citizen for the holidays in collaboration with the Jonesboro Police Department and hosting Jonesboro’s first Juneteenth celebration. Councilwoman Sartor also works tirelessly with other community organizations such as the Atlanta Food Bank, Clayton County Board of Health and Clayton County Public Schools to provide services such as food distribution, vaccines, and housing assistance.
She is a Board Member for Arts Clayton and Bridge of Light, Inc. She was selected as part of the 2021 Class of Leadership Clayton through the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as an Ambassador for the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce. My recently she was named to the Georgia Municipal Association’s Equity and Inclusion Council.
Councilwoman Sartor is committed to making sure all people have fair and equal representation and she welcomes input from all her constituents. She is looking forward to the continued progress and economic development of Jonesboro and working with the citizens, various organizations and businesses within the city.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and playing golf.
